[UPDATE] Snowy Weather: Slippery Roads, Port Chester Schools Closed for the Day
Be careful driving and walking around the village today.
Port Chester schools initiated a two-hour delayed opening this morning because of the heavy snow that fell overnight, leaving roads and sidewalks slippery. However, school officials say that worsening conditions have led them to close schools for today.

Port Chester Village Manager Christoper Steers said DPW crews were out early this morning and all major roads are plowed and salted and are now down to black top. He said side roads are being plowed and salted.

Steers said village crews will be out for remainder of snow fall. No significant incidents related to the snow have been reported in the village.
- Police Department reports two accidents and one disabled vehicle related to the snow.

- Fire Department reports one call for assistance at the Coach diner.
- The Senior/Community Center is closed. It will be open Friday night for a scheduled activity weather-permitting.
- No reports of any power outages.
- Port Chester Code Enforcement personnel have been previously instructed to remind residents not to throw snow into the streets; Police Department also advised of same.
- Village Hall and the Justice Court are open.
