Woman Found Shot in Car Dies From Injuries
The woman, who was shot in the head, is in critical condition, police say.

UPDATE Friday 8 p.m.: Police say Stacy Rountree has died from her injuries.
CORAM, NY – A man shot a woman and then killed himself Tuesday night inside a car on Long Island, police said.
According to Suffolk Police, Sixth Precinct officers responded to a 911 call of two injured people in a car at 238 N. Washington Ave. in Centereach at about 8 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a woman in the driver's seat of a 2014 Kia Soul with a gunshot wound to the head and a man in the passenger's seat with a gunshot wound to the head. A firearm was recovered from inside the vehicle.

The woman, 48-year-old Stacy Rountree, of Coram, is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries at Stony Brook University Hospital. The man, Erick Horton, 48, of Coram, died from his injuries at the same hospital.
Detectives believe Horton shot Rountree before shooting himself, police said.

Police did not disclose any relationship between the pair.
