2021 Port Jefferson Lions Holiday Food Basket Drive

Each holiday season the Port Jefferson Lions Club purchases thousands of dollars worth of food, packs them for each family and delivers them to those in need within Our Community, either directly to their homes or through their local school.

This year we plan to distribute to over $15,000 worth of food to 120 families. None of this is possible without the help of our local Businesses and Community members generous donations and participation. The typical delivery is to a single parent of 2 or 3 children living in a small rented apartment. Families are so thankful for our delivery of several bags of groceries and a ham.

On December 10th 2021 we will be staging the food and on December 11th 2021 Port Jefferson Lions and their families friends and other community members personally deliver the food to the homes of local families in need.

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with approximately 48,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world. The Port Jefferson Lion Club was formed in 1946 by a group of local business men and residents who were interested in improving their community. Membership is open to men and women who care about the place where they live or work.
