Alternate Routes Urged Around Port Jefferson During Charles Dickens Festival

Due to an anticipated influx of crowds, Main Street will be closed intermittently on Saturday and Sunday, police say.

PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Motorists should use alternate routes in light of road closures for the annual Charles Dickens Festival in Port Jefferson this weekend, Suffolk police said.

Due to an anticipated influx of crowds and pedestrian traffic during the event, Main Street will be closed intermittently on Saturday and Sunday between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The festival attracts hundreds of people to Port Jefferson throughout the weekend.
