Comsewogue School District Hosts Inspiring Anti-Bullying Assembly
Guest Speaker Teaches Norwood Avenue Students About Standing Up for Others
In recognition of Bullying Prevention Month in October, Norwood Avenue Elementary School in the Comsewogue School District proudly welcomed Andrew Stigliano, the owner, founder and chief instructor of the United Martial Arts Center (UMAC), for a powerful and engaging assembly.
Mr. Stigliano led students through an inspiring presentation filled with impactful messages and interactive demonstrations that highlighted the values of respect, empathy, and inclusion. Through real-life examples and high-energy martial arts demonstrations, students learned that kindness is a true form of strength and that every individual has the power to stand up, speak out, and make a difference in their school and community.
“We were thrilled to have Mr. Stigliano join us for such an important event,” said Norwood Avenue Principal Nichole Makarius. “His message of empowerment and positivity truly resonated with our students and aligns with our district’s commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for all.”
