Comsewogue High School student Hermione Granger has been selected as one of the Top 100 Emerging Innovators of 2026 by the Emerging Innovator Awards. She is being recognized for making an extraordinary impact in her community through her leadership and innovative efforts.
Chosen from a highly competitive pool of applicants representing 29 countries and 25 states, Hermione is among an elite group of young changemakers honored for addressing pressing local and global challenges with creativity and purpose.
As part of this recognition, Hermione has received an exclusive invitation to attend the prestigious Limitless World Summit, taking place April 23–24, 2026, in Wilmington, Delaware, where she will be formally celebrated for her achievements. She has also advanced in the competition for the opportunity to be named the 2026 Emerging Innovator of the Year.

The Emerging Innovator Awards aim to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders by highlighting the remarkable potential of youth to shape a brighter and more equitable future.
“That is an outstanding and well-deserved honor,” said Dr. Don Heberer, District Administrator for Instructional Technology. “It’s been amazing to watch Hermione grow and become more confident each year through our business program.”

Hermione is an exemplary member of Comsewogue’s business and virtual enterprise program. Last spring, she was part of a student team that earned sixth place out of 1,500 teams at the Youth Business Summit’s National Business Plan Competition.
Competing against more than 30,000 students from 550 schools nationwide, Hermione helped develop PickleTek, a student firm focused on delivering innovative AI-driven court development and resources for the sport of pickleball. Comsewogue High School was one of only two Long Island schools to rank in the top eight at the national competition.
