Eighties Hip-Hop Queen Calls Port Jefferson Station Home

Lisa Lisa performed her hits at Patchogue's The Emporium.

Last week, fans of Eighties music got a chance to don the shoulder pads and go back in time with Lisa Lisa when she performed her hits at Patchogue's The Emporium. According to an interview in Newsday before the show, nowadays the "Queen of Latin Hip-Hop" is content to spend time in Port Jefferson Station where she lives and is raising a family.

She compared the stage to her home life:

“When I come home, I get that same feeling; when I open the door, my kids scream. I love that. If there's something in your life that you want to do, you make it happen. And that's what I did,” she told music writer Glenn Gamboa.
