Firefighters Battle Blaze In Mount Sinai
It was first reported as a smoke condition, but firefighters saw it quickly turn into a "fully involved" fire, fire department says.
MOUNT SINAI, NY — An early morning blaze broke out at a Mount Sinai home on Sunday, authorities said.
In a Facebook post, the Mount Sinai Fire Department said first responders were first called to the Grassland Drive home for a smoke investigation, but it quickly turned into a "fully involved" fire.
The department had support from other fire departments in extinguishing the blaze and no one was injured.

"Nice job done by all the volunteers on scene," the post concluded.
Suffolk's Arson Squad responded to investigate, police said.

The fire broke out at around 7:35 a.m., but the fire department was called back to the scene for an area that was smoldering at around 5:26 p.m., according to a police spokesman.
It was one of two locally that firefighters responded to on Sunday.
A second fire broke out at around 1 a.m. in Mastic Beach.
