  1. Resurrection House, located in Wyandanch, provides emergency shelter, a food pantry and other services to families, and is gearing up to help people in need this holiday season. Though the need for donated food is not quite as high as it was during the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic, food bank executives say food insecurity still remains a big problem on Long Island.(Newsday)
  2. The Board of Trustees board meetings, scheduled for Monday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 20, at 3:30 p.m., have been canceled. The rescheduled Board of Trustees meeting for the month of December will take place on Monday, Dec. 13, at 3:30 p.m. and will have a public portion. (Press Release Desk)
  3. Under the direction of the Port Jefferson School District orchestra teacher Dr. Vanessa Salzman, a musical tribute took place in front of Earl L. Vandermeulen High School on the outdoor cafeteria patio. To honor veterans, the students performed patriotic songs, while members of the district's Varsity Club placed American flags around the Armed Forces Tribute rock.   4. Suffolk County Republican lawmakers joined together last week calling on Democratic leaders in Albany to repeal the state’s Cashless Bail Law. They argue that it has led to an uptick in violent crime. (TBRNews)
