Former Harvard Rowing Coach Launches Port Jeff Rowing Club
A former Harvard rowing coach is bringing the water sport to Port Jefferson.

A former Harvard rowing coach is bringing the sport to Port Jefferson,
James Finke, who was an assistant coach at Harvard University, recently started the Port Jefferson Rowing Club for students in grades 9 to 12 to row in Harborfront Park.
Finke made the announcement of Facebook, saying he's been working with the Village of Port Jefferson bring the first rowing club to the village.

"It was made official recently and we're excited for our first season come the end of April," Finke said. "The club offers great culture and high level coaching. For prospective junior rowers 9th-12th grade, it's a great way to get into a better college."
A 2010 Rutgers University graduate, Finke has also coached at St. Anthony's High School.
