  3. Nearby News: Police: Officer struck by car in Yaphank. On-duty police officer was hit by a car on the side of the William Floyd Parkway in Yaphank. The incident happened just north of the Long Island Expressway around midnight. In video, a white truck believed to be what hit the officer and a police cruiser can be seen. There is no word on the officer’s condition. The William Floyd Parkway is closed due to the investigation. (News12)
