Last Chance: See a Film About Faith
Theatre Three film festival opens on Tuesday.

The at this month focuses on themes of spirituality and faith. The first film in the series put on by The Greater Port Jefferson-Northern Brookhaven Arts Council will show Tuesday night at 7 p.m. and is called A Better Life. Acording to the Internet Movie Database, this rated PG-13 movie is about a Los Angelas gardener who is trying to keep his son from falling in with gangs and immigration agents while he struggles to give him opportunities that he neevr had.

Every year the twelve members of the festival in the committee put together a different list of commercial, independent and foreign films that they feel casually address the issue of faith in a fun, educational and not so obvious manner.

“We look for films that are of a good quality, that are not preachy, but more food for thought,” said Winifred Pardo, a volunteer member on the film series committee, during an interview with Patch last year. “None of the films selected are produced by religious groups of any kind.”
