LIMEHOF Hosts 1st Music Documentary Film Festival

It takes place on Aug. 8-10 in Stony Brook.

STONY BROOK, NY — The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame is hosting its first documentary film festival.

During the Aug. 8-10 event, two dozen music films will be screened. There will also be Q&A sessions and live music performances.

Each day will feature four or five feature-length music documentaries, often paired with short films.

Among the movies being shown at the this weekend's festival is "Cats in the Cradle: 50th Anniversary," which explores Harry Chapin signature song that has changed the lives of millions of parents and children around the world.

Another feature "Building the Beatles" takes viewers on back to Liverpool on how the iconic rock band grew out the Cavern Club in the early 1960s.

You can purchase individual screenings on the LIMEHOF website. There are also full day passes, although Day 1 and Day 3 passes are sold out.

The Long Island Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame is located at 97 Main Street in Stony Brook.
