The all-day event will showcase local makers of innovative STEAM projects, with Long Island students and adults participating.

PORT JEFFERSON, NY — The Maker Faire Long Island is back, after two years off due to the pandemic. The Maker Faire, an international event, will come to Port Jefferson Village Saturday, with exhibitions from "makers" in the STEAM fields like the Tesla Science Center, students who built a wooden boat, and robotics teams from local high schools.
According to the website for the event: "Our Faire is part of the larger Maker Faire brand associated with the Faires in New York City, The Bay Area, Berlin, Barcelona, and other cities throughout the world that celebrate creativity and innovation in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math."
There will be over 100 "makers" coming to the Long Island Explorium, Village Center and Harborfront Park in Port Jefferson Village Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a Port Jefferson Jitney trolley making five stops around the village for attendees.
