Man Flashes Gun In Attempted Robbery Of Coram Smoke Shop: Police

He was still on scene when officers arrived, Suffolk police say.

CORAM, NY — A man flashed a gun at a clerk in an attempted robbery of a smoke shop on Sunday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

Kevin Walter, 43, of Coram, went inside Koncept Smoke Shop on Middle Country Road, at around 3:45 p.m. and displayed a gun, police said, that he was still on scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody without incident.

No one was injured.

He was charged with first-degree attempted robbery and will be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Central Islip.
