Mount Sinai Home Fire Draws Firefighters From Four Departments

Suffolk's Arson Squad is investigating, police say.

MOUNT SINAI, NY — A fire broke out in the garage of a Mount Sinai home Sunday night, drawing area firefighters, authorities said.

It started at around 6:12 p.m. at the Apple Court home, and a vehicle caught fire, according to Suffolk police.

Arson Squad detectives were called to the scene, police said.

No one was injured.

The fire was extinguished with the help of the Miller Place, Sound Beach, and Port Jefferson fire departments, while the Coram and Rocky Point departments covered the hamlet, the Mount Sinai Fire Department said on Facebook.

The American Red Cross was on scene to help the family, the department said.
