1. If you’re looking for vintage Christmas ornaments and décor, Rosie’s Vintage holiday pop-up sale is the place to be. In addition to ornaments sold individually or in packages, this Huntington vintage emporium’s Christmas shop features little ceramic Santas, elves and reindeer, festive mugs, an endless assortment of holiday-themed salt and pepper shakers, angel candlestick holders and so much more! Ninety-five percent of the vintage Christmas that they have in the store is from houses on Long Island. There are cute and colorful Putz houses from Japan, handmade in the 1940s through 1960s out of cardboard, mica glitter "snow" and acetate, some of which are wired to light up. (Newsday)

The Port Jefferson Station-Terryville Chamber of Commerce will host screenings of The Polar Express in the Chamber Train Car, corner of Nesconset Highway and Route 112, Port Jefferson Station on Fridays and Saturdays. 3. The holidays have officially arrived with the return of 'Barnaby Saves Christmas' at Port Jefferson Theatre Three. Celebrating its 17th anniversary, the endearing musical, written by Douglas Quattrock and Jeffrey Sanzel, tells the tale of a little elf named Barnaby and his reindeer friend Franklynne’s quest to save Christmas. As more shoppers buy online this holiday season, customers are being warned about porch piracy, when a person takes a package that was not shipped to them before its recipient can pick it up from their porch or building. Package theft is a growing problem across America. The Porch Piracy Act lays out fines and potential prison sentences for those who steal packages, also known as porch pirates.
