Pedestrian Critically Injured In Suffolk Crash: Police

The man was admitted to the hospital in critical condition following the Tuesday evening crash, Suffolk police say.

CORAM, NY — A pedestrian was critically injured in a Coram crash on Tuesday evening, Suffolk police said.

A 2011 Ford van, driven by a 68-year-old Ridge man, struck a man in front of 100 Middle Country Road at around 6:15 p.m., police said. The pedestrian was admitted into Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition, police said. Police are withholding the man's identity pending notification of kin.

The driver was not injured, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the crash was asked to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
