Photos: Art Auction Raises Money For Education Fund
Port Jefferson's Royal Educational Foundation supports education programs not in regular school budget.
On March 8, the Royal Educational Foundation held an art auction at the Old Field Club in East Setauket to raise money for the programs, activities and educational resources that it funds in Port Jefferson School District not covered in the budget.
According to Foundation member Adam Scopin, about 200 people came out for the event that was underwritten in part by BNY Mellon.
“The auctioneer brought nice variety of artwork,” said Scopin who thought that the item that brought in the highest price was a signed Bon Jovi guitar.

The Foundation also funded a seal release program in conjunction with the Riverhead Foundation last year. There was also a portable planetarium program funded by the Foundation.
