Port Jefferson Ambulance, Mt. Sinai FD Called to Coram Fire

Multiple area fire departments, including Mt. Sinai, along with Port Jefferson Volunteer Ambulance Co. were called to the scene of a fire at a 16-unit apartment complex in Coram Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.  

According to police, around 20 people were removed from the complex at 24 El Camino Court and the Red Cross was there to help any victims. There were no injuries and the fire was determined to be non-criminal and was reportedly caused by a resident using a plumber’s torch.   

Selden, Ridge, Middle Island, Miller Place, Medford and Gordon Heights were called for mutual aid along with Mt. Sinai.
