- The plan to expand Mather Hospital has been approved by the board with 3-0 votes on July 14. Some residents are against the project due to the need to clear trees to expand the parking lot. About $78.7 million will be invested in the site. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
- Dogs had a "splash" in the very first Port Paws Dog Festival in the Port Jefferson Village. About 140 dogs dived into the pool to exercise and beat the heat wave over the weekend. Vendors, food trucks, and others gathered on Caroline Avenue. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
- Port Jefferson Free Library will keep the little ones busy with the "Clay Play" program. Children aged 2-5 will let their imagination flow while working with clay on July 26 at 11 a.m. (PJFL)
