- The newly renovated bathroom at the Rocketship Park in Port Jefferson has been vandalized four days after its opening. A meeting was held on July 5 at the Village Hall, and residents expressed concerns about the rising incidents of vandalism in the Village. (TBR News Media)
- Port Jefferson High School welcomes the creation of a new class, "NPR," which will teach the history of sports. The new program was designed by Suffolk SHF President Chris Vaccaro and his brother, Bryan Vaccaro, a social studies teacher and sports coach at Port Jefferson High School. (Port Jefferson Patch)
- Lauren Pazienza, 26, of Port Jefferson, refused an offer to spend 15 years in prison and decided to plead not guilty to the attack of Barbara Gustern, 87, in Manhattan. Panzienza is accused of pushing Gusterns to the floor, causing severe injuries to her head and causing her death five days after the attack. (News12)
- Port Jefferson will host a "Teen Origami" class on Saturday, July 23. For those who want to take a break from the heat and have fun indoors learning Japanese art, the program starts at noon. (PJFL)
