  1. Port Jefferson School District officials released the date for the community vote on Dec. 12 to determine between two capital bond projects. The projects are $23.1 million to be invested in facility improvements or $1.8 million to be supported on a turf field at the high school to expand the field use playability for the students.   2. Theatre Three is making a difference in our community by hosting food drives to help families struggling with food insecurity. Donations will be collected at the Infant Jesus Convent at 110 Hawkins Ave. in Port Jefferson, on Sunday, Sept. 18, from 9 a.m. to noon. The donations will help the church's pantry. (TBR News Media)
  3. Nonprofit Sweetbriar Nature Center has much to offer in environmental education, arts, and yoga. The center has free admission and regular classes for adults and kids.
