1. The Greater Port Jefferson Arts Council announces the "Fiddle & Folk" Festival. The event will be held at the historic Benner's Farm in Setauket on Sept. 11. from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. (GPJAC)
2. The "Let the Sun Shine" exhibit will be displayed at Port Jefferson Village Center until Aug. 31. Stop by between 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. to appreciate nature sceneries painted by our local artists. (Port Jefferson Village Center)
3. Town of Brookhaven is now participating in the New York State Paint Stewardship Program. Town Supervisor, Ed Romaine, announced it after a visit to the Town of Brookhaven Landfill. The program promotes the proper disposal of paints that can harm the environment. (TBR News Media)
4. A GoFundMe page has been set up on behalf of Angel Salis, the 9-year-old boy from Deer Park who suffered severe injuries after the car he was traveling was hit by a drunk driver on the LIE. Angel was transported to Stony Brook Hospital but was declared brain dead. (Daily Voice)
