- Hooray! The recreation department is opening the Resident Golf Outing for the community for the first time! Whoever resides, volunteers, or works in the Village of Port Jefferson is welcome to participate in the event. The outing is set for Sept. 19. (Village of Port Jefferson)
- About 19 roads are now repaved on North Route 347. According to Councilman Jonathan Kornreich, the $1.5 million paving project is completed. Residents and travelers can now enjoy smooth and safer roads in the area. (Patch)

- Lauren Pazienza of Port Jefferson faces 25 years in prison if convicted for the death of a vocal coach, Barbara Maier Gustern.
