  1. A Port Jefferson resident is facing criminal charges for shooting ospreys in the area. The suspect was caught after a neighbor called the ECO Small reported that a bird fell off a tree after hearing gunshots. Ospreys are protected by State and Federal Law in New York State. (Smithtown Matters)
  2. Southdown Coffee is now brewing on Port Jefferson Main Street. The new coffee shop is located in the Brookport Port Jefferson apartment complex at 440 Main St. The village location features a large kitchen where chef Kelsie Reynolds leads a baking program. (Greater Long Island)
  3. The Cedar Hill Cemetery photograph exhibit will be displayed in the Port Jefferson Village Center Gallery from Sept. 5 -11 from 1 to 3 p.m. The photographic exhibition features the history of the resting place as a "hidden sanctuary of our past." (Port Jefferson Village Center)
