2. The Port Jefferson Free Library Reading Program starts soon but before, the Library's Teen Center needs a magic touch. Librarians are inviting the community to help decorate the room with a theme for the summer in exchange for one hour of community service for you. The work starts at 4 p.m. on June 1. (PJFL)
3. Saturday, June 4, is the day to support the "Strong Island Derby - Charity Event." Doors will open at 7 pm. at the Sports Arena in Centereach. A percentage of profits made at the event will be donated to the Strong Island Animal Rescue. (Patch events)

• LIRR Train users pointed out the lack of seating at the Port Jefferson Train Station. During an interview with TBR News Media, a resident said that elderly or disabled passengers don't have a place to sit during rush hour while waiting for the train. A new bench was recently installed outside the ticketing area, but the community hopes that a better layout will be arranged in the future. (tbrnewsmedia)
• For all who want to have some fun on Hump Day, Port Jefferson Brewing Concert Series will rock the Wednesday nights in the Village! Starting on June 1, at 7 p.m. each Wednesday of the month, all are invited to 22 Mill Creek Road. (PJCofC)
