  1. Suffolk police received a 911 call about a van in flames with two passengers inside on Country Road in Coram last Saturday. The driver, from Mount Sinai, was transported to Stony Brook Hospital with non-life- threating injuries. The other passenger, a non identified woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said it's a non-crime nature investigation. (Port Jefferson Patch)
  2. It was a great season for the Port Jefferson middle school athletics soccer team. Led by coach Bryan Vaccaro, the little but bright champions closed the season with a 5-5 record, with wins over Westhampton Beach, Rocky Point, Mt. Sinai and both Riverhead teams. (Press Release Desk)
  3. It's the season of giving and a 9 years old girl from Long Island helped Santa with an outstanding donation for the children at Stony Brook hospital. The little Santa helper raised $600 selling chocolate pops and was able to buy 50 items in goodies to give out as Christmas presents. (WABC-TV)
  4. A tribute ceremony to honor veterans that had fallen was held at Pinelawn Cemetery in Farmingdale. Families and friends gathered together to honor loved ones hanging about 35,000 wreaths in their graves and sharing good time memories. The ceremony is a nationwide annual tradition called " Wreaths Across America".(Newsday)
  5. Firehouses have been hosting the most fun holiday this events this season such as Christmas parades. Firefighters drive around the neighborhoods with emergency flashing lights on and honking loudly in decorated firetrucks with Santa in the back!
