1. Village of Port Jefferson is partnering up with Bayles Boat Shop to recreate a whaleboat from the American Revolution. Mayor Margot Garant announced the plans after the last board meeting. The boat aims to preserve the maritime history of Long Island.

2. Workout at the Port Jefferson Free Library! Fitness instructors from Authentic Method Pilates will host a four-week workshop starting Sept. 12. "There is a $20 fee payable by check only to Authentic Method Pilates due upon registration." (Port Jeff Library)
3. The fun competition between Mather Hospital and the Village of Port Jefferson has started! The 13th Port Jefferson Regatta is on all day this Saturday. Last year the event raised more than $104,00, which was donated to the Lustgarten Foundation. (TBR News Media)
4. Police reported a car crash in Brookhaven that killed three people. The vehicle struck a utility pole on Montauk Highway at 8 p.m. Police are investigating the incident and asking anyone who witnesses to contact the Fifth Squad detectives at 631-854-8552. (News12)
