Port Jefferson Duo Qualify For Suffolk County Swim Championships
Dasha Zakharova and Olivia Schlegel both qualified for the Section XI Swim Championship.

Port Jefferson Middle School eighth grader Dasha Zakharova and Earl L. Vandermeulen High School senior Olivia Schlegel both qualified for the Section XI Swim Championship. Dasha qualified in the 100-meter butterfly, 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter freestyle. She must pick two out of the three events to compete in at the county meet.

Olivia qualified in the 100-meter backstroke and 200-meter individual medley. Olivia’s time in the 100-meter backstroke during the season already qualified her for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association state competition.
