Port Jefferson Duo To Represent District At NYSSMA Festival
Luke Dickhuth and Nicholas Smirnov will perform at the festival in December.

The Port Jefferson School District is pleased to announce that two high school students – Luke Dickhuth and Nicholas Smirnov – have been selected to perform in the New York State School Music Association’s All-State performing ensembles.

Their selections stem from evaluation scores and comments from the spring 2022 NYSSMA assessment, along with detailed teacher recommendations. Luke was selected for the symphony band and Nicholas for the symphony orchestra.
“We are once again so pleased to have our music program represented and so proud of these two young men for all their efforts in being selected,” District Director of Music and Fine Arts Dr. Michael Caravello said.

This year’s All-State Festival will take place in Rochester in early December. The district congratulates these students on this exceptional achievement.
