Port Jefferson Students Clean Up Camp

Clubs team up to get Camp Pa-qua-tuck ready for the winter

The Port Jefferson Middle School National Junior Honor Society and the Earl L. Vandermeulen High School Interact club teamed up with the local Rotary Club to help ready Camp Pa-qua-tuck for the winter on Nov. 15.

The volunteers worked together to bag leaves, store picnic benches and clean bunk areas at the camp, which provides special needs children and young adults with camping experiences.

“The event was a great success, and our students look forward to returning to the camp in the spring to help plant flowers and prepare the grounds for the summer,” said Deirdre Filippi, Interact advisor.
