Port Jefferson Students Spread Holiday Cheer

Student musicians performed holiday classics at a recent board meeting before being recognized for their contributions to the community.

The Port Jefferson School District Board of Education’s final meeting of 2022 was filled with the sounds of the season as student-musicians performed several holiday classics before being recognized for their contributions to the school and community during the holiday season.

Dr. Michael Caravello, director of music and fine arts, introduced music teacher Christine Creighton and high school concert band students William Harris, Jamie Kircher, Kay Moran, Riley Perrotta, Kristina Shterengas and Madison Testa who were each presented with a certificate of appreciation for their musical efforts.

Dr. Caravello highlighted the many opportunities that Port Jefferson students have for public musical performance in the local community including the many hours of commitment when participating in the festive Port Jefferson Village’s annual Dickens Festival.
