PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Walking lantern light tours highlighting historic buildings and a resident holiday decorating contest have been added to the holiday festivities in Port Jefferson Village this season, along with free parking through the winter season.
In the lantern tours, participants can take a guided walk highlighting the village’s rich history. The tours will blend storytelling, architecture, and tradition in a uniquely festive way, organizers say.
In the resident holiday decorating contest, homeowners are encouraged to deck out their homes, porches, and windows in holiday style.
Also in the village, visitors can visit "Elf Central Station," the new holiday hub featuring free gift wrapping, visits with "Santa Claus" and his elves, and a space for families to warm up and enjoy the festivities, and there will be a tree farm and fresh wreath market nearby.
