1. Port Jefferson Farmers Market is now inside the Village Center through April. It's open each Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Village is calling for local farmers, vendors, and sponsors to help to keep the local market running. (Port Jefferson Village Center)

• The Town of Brookhaven Town is launching the “Bark in the Mew Year” promotion this month to encourage people to adopt. The center offers a $65 fee per adoption, including free neutering or spaying, tests, vaccinations, and more.
