Prostitution Charge For Queens Woman In Massage Parlor Raid In Suffolk: Police

The joint investigation with Brookhaven Town was prompted by numerous community complaints, Suffolk police say.

CORAM, NY — A Queens woman was charged with prostitution and unauthorized practice of a profession during a massage parlor raid in Coram on Wednesday, Suffolk police said.

Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers, in conjunction with the Brookhaven Town's Building Inspector, Fire Marshal, and Investigator, undertook an investigation of an unnamed business, on Middle Country Road, and arrested the woman at around 3:25 p.m.

The investigation was prompted by numerous community complaints.

A 37-year-old East Elmhurst woman was charged with Unauthorized Practice of a Profession, a felony, and Prostitution, a misdemeanor.

The woman was released on a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on a later day.
