Wind Farm Developer Has Begun Hiring Campaign: Long Islanders will likely find work in maintaining the five wind farms that have been proposed for the region's waters and in constructing substations to deliver the windmills' electricity to homes. Grant Wyngaarden, deputy head of procurement for wind farm developer Orsted, said it plans to hire residents of Nassau and Suffolk counties and to purchase goods and services locally. 3. Suffolk Police Officer In Medically Induced Coma: Police officer who was hit by an alleged drunk driver in Yaphank is now in a medically induced coma. Officer Tim Thrane is at
   Stony Brook Hospital surrounded by his family and fellow officers. He suffered a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain after, police say, William Peterson drove drunk and barreled into an accident scene. (News 12 Bronx)
