- The Sound Symphony Orchestra is hosting a concert with a special guest, conductor Alex Wen. The event is set for Friday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. at John F. Kennedy Middle School in Port Jefferson Station. Admission and other details can be found at www.soundsymphony.org. (Patch Events)

- A woman was transported to a local hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation due to a fire at her residence in Coram. Police reported the incident at the Third Street home at 12:17 p.m. Official reports say the fire started in the kitchen. No further details were released. (Port Jefferson Patch)
- A new accusation against Rep. George Santos is being investigated. Santos is accused of stealing money from a GoFundMe campaign to help a veteran's dog.
