Star Student Athlete: Port Jefferson's Josh Shines Off The Field

PORT JEFFERSON, NY — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.

This submission comes from Alex Moskvin who nominated his son, Josh, a 9th-grader from Port Jefferson. Soccer player Josh has been described as a hard worker who maintains an academic average of over 90 percent.

He is a hard-working high school student and an outstanding soccer player. He is a member of the Stony Brook LGN Soccer Club, the John F. Kennedy “Clarus” Chapter National Junior Honor Society member, and Tri-M Music Honor Society. His academic average is over 90 percent.

I am so very proud of all of Josh’s achievements.
