Student from Comsewogue Makes National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinals

Nicholas Segreti has a chance to compete for one of 8,300 scholarships in the finals next spring.

Comsewogue High School senior Nicholas Segreti is a semifinalist for the National Merit Scholarship Program's scholarship competition, according the school district, which posted the announcement on its website. The school called the accomplishment a "tremendous honor."

According to the National Merit Scholarship website says that semifinalists will compete for one of 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million offered next spring.

Segreti is one of two area students who are semifinalists in the competition. Port Jefferson School District's Zachary Graziano is also a semifinalist.
