Suspect Swindled Person Out Of Nearly $4K In Rent Scam In Suffolk: Police
The home was advertised on social media, but it was not available for rent, police say.

CORAM, NY— Suffolk investigators are looking for the suspect they say scammed nearly $4,000 from a person looking to rent a Coram home advertised on social media that ended up not being available.
The man posted a house for rent on social media that was not available, and received
$3,900 from the person on June 1 at around 9 a.m., police said Monday.
In a photo released by police, the man can be seen wearing an orange shirt, as he holds up a key.

The crime has been classified grand larceny.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
