Todder Dies After Being Hit By Pickup Truck In Suffolk Driveway: Police

The child was struck just before 1 p.m. Saturday, police say.

LONG ISLAND, NY— A toddler died after a being struck by a pickup truck in a Mount Sinai driveway Saturday afternoon, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the incident took place at 12:42 p.m. at a home on Maureen Drive. The toddler was fatally struck by a Ram 1500 in the driveway; the child's mother, 44, and father, 43, were at the scene, police said.

The toddler was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital and pronounced dead, police said. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
