Top Sellers: What's Flying Off the Shelves at Port Jefferson Businesses

From hand soap to Christmas lights, futons to flowers, you can find nearly anything your heart desires and the various shops in the greater Port Jefferson area. Patch spoke to some local business owners Friday to find out what are the top sellers around town.

1. At The Soap Box, a new line of products called Red Coral, from English company Michel, is starting to become very popular -- the 9 oz. shea butter soap bar in particular ($9.99). Also available: Red Coral lotion, hand soap, candle and matching soap dishes.

2. Kathy Maniscalco at Port Jefferson Florist reports that sunflowers and gerbera daisies are in demand. "Of course the sunflowers make people think of summer, and the gerberas are just a popular flower," she said.

3. At Vine 2 Wine, owner Geoff Cheeping pointed to the Triennes Rosé ($18) and the Chevalieres Cabernet Sauvignon as the hot sellers lately because of their refreshing qualities.

4. Joseph Rezvani, owner of 8 Futons in Upper Port, said that among all the different types of furniture and futons he sells, those with storage underneath are the most popular items these days. They are available with a choice of color wood and fabric and style of arm.

5. At Once Upon a Christmas, the popular $5 t-shirts are what brings the customers in the door -- and once they are inside, reports owner Vera Wilde, people are snapping up bubble lights. "They're very nostalgic. They're back this year," she said.
