Van Overturns After Drugged Driver Strikes 2 Parked Cars: Cops

A 29-year-old man was arrested after the Long Island crash Monday night.

TERRYVILLE, NY – A 29-year-old man was arrested following a single-vehicle crash in Terryville Monday night, Suffolk Police said.

According to police, Brandon Sheridan was driving a 2008 Ford van southbound on Jayne Boulevard near Dillon Avenue when the van swerved into the southbound shoulder, struck two parked cars and overturned at about 9 p.m.

Sheridan was freed from the van by responding paramedics from Terryville Rescue who transported him to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Sheridan, of Rocky Point, was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs. Police did not say what kind of drugs Sheridan is accused of being on at the time of the crash.

He was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Tuesday.
