Veterans Tribute Concert Planned In Port Jefferson Station

It will be held 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Port Jefferson Station-Terryville Chamber of Commerce Train Car on Route 112.

PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY — A Veterans Tribute Night with a 6os theme will be held at the Port Jefferson Station-Terryville Chamber of Commerce Train Car Park in Port Jefferson Station.

During the night, which is part of the chamber’s summer concert series, Just Sixties, the longest-running 60s tribute band in the United States, will perform and there will be personal care item drive to benefit veterans throughout Suffolk County, according to organizers.

The concert will run from 6 to 8 p.m.

All personal care items and household cleaning supplies that are collected will be donated to Long Island Cares’ Veterans Project and will be distributed to needy veterans.

Items that are being collected include: packaged sponges, household cleaning supplies, dish and laundry detergent, and hand towels. Other items include shampoo and conditioner, soaps, toilet paper, paper towels, sanitary items, and other new and unused personal care and household cleaning items.

All donations must be unopened and in their original packaging without any rips or tears.

The Veterans Project was established in 2010 to help veterans having financial difficulties and to provide humanitarian aid.
