Volunteer Hours Surpass 3 Million Mark at Mather Hospital
Volunteers have been working within the hospital community since 1958.

Volunteers working in a wide variety of roles at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital have contributed more than three million hours collectively over the course of the last 55 years, hospital administration announced Wednesday.
The Hospital Auxiliary established the volunteer program in 1958, incorporating both adult and teen volunteers. According to a hospital statement, the volunteers do such work as staffing the reception desk, escorting patients and visitors to their destinations, staff the gift shop and thrift shop, and work with the nursing units, patient admissions and other departments.
“I congratulate our volunteers on this tremendous achievement,” Mather President Kenneth Roberts said in a statement. “They are a valuable part of the Mather family and we would not be able to carry out our mission without the help of these dedicated individuals.”
