2 Boats Ablaze On North Shore Sends 1 Person To Hospital: Police

PORT MANORHAVEN, NY — An unoccupied boat caught fire early Wednesday in Manhasset Bay Marina, police said.

A 43-foot marine trader boat was fully engulfed and flames spread to a nearby 42-foot boat.

The Port Washington Fire Department and other departments extinguished the blaze.

Both vessels sank and a 58-year-old male was taken to a local area hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation, police said.

The Nassau County Fire Marshall, Arson Bomb Squad and Marine Bureau responded.
