3 Accused Of North Shore Burglary Spree

Seven homes were burglarized in a five-month span, police say.

Three men were arrested on Friday for their involvement in a residential burglary spree on the North Shore of Nassau County.

According to authorities, 20-year-old Andres Zapata, 30-year-old Brayan Castano, both of Queens, and 27-year-old Oscar Vera, of San Bernadino, California, are accused of committing the following burglaries over a five-month span:

  • May 12 at 8:37 p.m. - 24 Laurel Lane in Old Westbury
  • May 12 at 9:19 p.m. - 33 Kensington Circle in Manhasset
  • May 18 at 8:28 p.m. - 5 Laurel Lane in Old Westbury
  • June 1 at 8:30 p.m. - 2 Stone Hill Drive in Manhasset
  • June 23 at 8:31 p.m. - 33 Holiday Pond Road in Woodbury
  • Aug. 10 at 9:00 p.m. - 24 Stone Hill Drive in Manhasset
  • Sept. 21 at 8:49 p.m. - 8 Annette Place in Jericho

The three men were arrested following an extensive investigation by the Burglary Pattern team as well as the Electronics Squad and Asset Forfeiture Intelligence Unit.

Castano and Zapata were each charged with seven counts of second-degree burglary. Very was charged with second-degree burglary. They were arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
