Saint Mary’s High School Digital University Program

St. Mary's High School is offering a new technological curriculum addition called Saint Mary’s High School Digital University Electives.

Last year, St. Mary's was the first Catholic high school on Long Island to launch the integrated iPad curriculum to an entire class. Based on the resounding success and popularity of the program, St. Mary's Digital University was born. According to Mr. Jonathan D. Kramer, principal and the school’s technology director, “The heart of the St. Mary's High School mission is to create an excitement for learning within the student that will last a lifetime.  What better way to spark a student's imagination and desire to learn than to offer multiple online electives across many disciplines.” Mr. Kramer also noted that, “In addition, this opportunity gives the students a platform to strengthen their work ethic to better prepare them for college.  St. Mary's students will be given an unprecedented look at how university courses are taught.”

This groundbreaking educational initiative will allow St. Mary’s High School students to experience courses from the University of South Florida, Stanford University, Columbia University, UCLA, and The Open University. This program, intended for all students at no added cost is offered in addition to their required courses and electives for graduation requirements.  These courses will earn the students St. Mary's High School credit and appear on their transcript to further demonstrate their desire for learning and motivation to colleges and universities.

Mrs. Grace M. Cavallo, president of Saint Mary’s High School has been working side-by-side with Mr. Kramer on supporting these initiatives. With pride, Mrs. Cavallo commented that, “This continues to be an exciting time at St. Mary’s, positioning us as an educational leader among our peers. St. Mary’s continues to provide the tools for students to use today and beyond their post-secondary experiences.”
