Emergency Shelters Opened in Nassau

UPDATE: The emergency shelter in Port Washington will close Friday at 4 p.m.

Due to the blizzard, Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano and the American Red Cross have announced that three emergency shelters have been opened, effective at 8 p.m. Thursday.

The locations include:

• Glen Cove - Glen Cove Senior Center: 130 Glen Street, Glen Cove
• Massapequa Park - McKenna Elementary School: 210 Spruce Street, Massapequa Park
• Port Washington – Paul Schreiber High School: 101 Campus Drive, Port Washington
